The first Rolling Stones performance at Madison Square Garden that I saw was in the company of Charlie, his sister Barbara and Barbara's friend Annette. I think that Meg gave up her ticket so that I can go, so my Stones psychosis is ?(with eternal) thanks to her!
It was June 24th 1975 and the Stones had started their much ballyhood "Tour of the Americas" in New Orleans on the first. Their most recent album at that time, "It's Only Rock and Roll", was already a year old and long off the charts. Not only that, but lead guitarist Mick Taylor had "left" the band shortly after IORR's release (yeah, left, as if you or anyone else for that matter, would "leave" the Rolling Stones).
The tour marked the "temporary" addition of Ron Wood (on loan from Rod Stewart and the Faces). Also marked was the state of the art Lotus Petal stage and the infamously "banned in San Antonio" giant and inflatable condom that Mick "rode" during 'Starf*&ker".

Sometimes my hand was a little shaky. For this one, I think that Keef was laughing back at me as my camera was high and aimed right at him from no more than 20 feet away. |

This is the first tour that I can recall in 30 years where Woody didn't have at least 1 cigarette constantly burning... |

Other times Mick and the band just move so quickly on stage so as to become no more than a blurred photographic image... |
